Life has a way of racing by so quickly every day, and you’re so involved in what you’re doing, you don’t really take a good look. When you sit down to put your make up on in the morning, you have an agenda. And so, you want to look good, and you don’t really take a real good look at yourself. But over the years, as times gone on, I think I’ve– my face has been fighting with gravity. And I began to notice my jaw line wasn’t the same as it used to be. My chin changed shape, and it kind of worried me. I said, where did my chin go? And so, I knew that the time was drawing near for me to do something, because I wasn’t feeling good about myself anymore. When I looked in the mirror, I saw that I didn’t look the same as I had years before, and, of course, that’s natural, but I want to feel good about myself, and I know that if I have something done and people come up to me and just say, “You look terrific. What did you do to yourself?” I’ll say, “That’s what the effect that I wanted to have!” I don’t want someone to say, “Oh, you had something done.” No. I just want them to think that I’m healthy and looking good. Because I care about the way I look. But nothing artificial. And that is what I got with Doctor Sessa. The natural look. The day of my surgery, I came and was immediately greeted by the staff. They came right out the door after me, and I felt so special.

I had had surgery treatment before and never got that kind of treatment. So, right away, I felt comfortable, and I went into the room after I had changed my clothes, and the nurses and the doctor came in and told me up front everything that they were going to be doing to make me comfortable, which they did. I felt nothing. I was happy and smiling. And the next thing you know, I was awake again, and everything was finished, and it was amazing. Before I had closed my eyes, I scanned the room, and I saw the equipment and knew that everything was going to be fine, because their state-of-the-art machinery that they had there really just let you know inside that it’s okay, and that’s how I felt. I felt good. And when I woke up, I felt nothing except excited, because I couldn’t wait for the results, what I could see in the mirror when I would go home exactly what I’d be looking like. And so, I was very happy with that.

And that evening, the doctor called. Great bed side manner, because you don’t get a doctor calling you in the evening, but he did. And I told him I was very satisfied, and I was feeling fine. I still was a little sleepy, so I was just dozing on and off, but everything worked out well for me. And I’m very happy that I’ve had this done. The first week after I had the surgery, I came in and actually got to take a good look at my face while I was here at the Surgical Arts Center, and it was just amazing. Totally amazing. I saw my jaw line, and I saw the chin I used to have when I was younger that I kind of lost in the shuffle somewhere in all those years, and my neck was smooth. No more the turkey jowls or anything like that, and I just got so excited. My husband walked in the room, and from that point on, every time he walks in the room, he says, “Hey, Youngy, how you doing?” So, he was very happy also. I know my best friend came to the house, and she said she had been looking at me very closely prior to me going in for my surgery. She took that close look, because she was contemplating doing the same thing herself. And so, when she came to see me after a week and a half, I turned around to look at her, and she just– her eyes opened so wide, and she had a big grin on her face, and she said, “Oh, my gosh!” She said, “You look so fantastic!” And that just made me bubble up inside, and I knew then that I had made the right decision.
